People with Disabilities WA (PWDWA) is currently planning the inaugural People with Disabilities WA State Conference which will be held in Perth, in November 2020.
A first for WA, the conference will become a biennial event focusing on the perspectives, voices and input of people with disabilities. Our theme is "Celebrating Self-Advocacy".
The conference will be hosted by PWDWA and its operational partner Evolve Events with advice from the Conference Reference Group.
Consisting entirely of people with disabilities, the Reference Group is an advisory body who will contribute ideas and guide the development of the project. The Conference Reference Group is not a legally responsible body and members are not expected to undertake administrative or operational tasks.
So far, our committee has good representation in many areas, but we are keen to hear from potential committee members who have Mental Health Issues, Autism / neurological difference Acquired Brain Injury or Intellectual Disability.
To be involved, you would need to attend monthly committee meetings in West Perth on Wednesday afternoons on a voluntary basis.
Conference organising experience is not required but we welcome people who have ideas to share for a great event.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
